Marinilka Kimbro is a Partner at Spexsearch as well as a tenured Associate Professor of Accounting at the Albers School of Business at Seattle University.  

 

Marinilka received her PhD in Accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park and has held research appointments at Seattle University, University of Washington, Groupe HEC-Paris, Hong Kong Polytechnic, Instituto de Empresa (IE)-Madrid, and Gonzaga University.  Her refereed publications appear in the Journal of Accounting & Public Policy, Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance, Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, International Journal of Business Performance Management, Journal of Forensic and Investigative Accounting, Journal of International Accounting Research, and the Journal of Management and Global Sustainability, among others.

Marinilka has been an expert witness in various court cases addressing the quantification of damages, as well as asset valuation. Most recently, she served as interim (fractional) CFO for various not-for-profits, developing project-specific costing models as well as grant budgeting and forecasting.

 

Dr. Kimbro is a past Director of the WSCPA’s and member of the Diversity and Inclusion Action Team of FEI. She has been actively involved in executive training at: Securities & Futures Commission of Hong Kong, Goldman Sachs Asia, Credit Suisse, E&Y, World Bank, New York University, and the Global Forum, among others.
