Our Process

We do senior level retained executive search across the functional areas of leadership.  Most of our work is at the C-level, primarily CEO, COO, CFO, CMO, CRO, CTO, CHRO, GC. We also do VP level work, which is usual head of function. 

As an extension of our clients in the market, we pride ourselves on doing deep research and finding and bringing to the table the best talent the market has to offer.   

Our Search Process and how we work

In partnering with clients, we operate as trusted advisors and as an extension of the client in the market.  We work directly with the hiring manager and executive team to ensure coordination and close communication throughout the search process. The search firm does not operate in a vacuum.  Search is a team effort and the more engaged the client is in the process the better the outcome will be. 

Having the rights skills, abilities, and experience is table stakes.  The true alchemy of executive search is finding the right fit.  There is a perfect candidate out there for every opportunity but to make the right match you have to spend the time to really understand the opportunity and then how candidates fit with the company and team they will be working with for a long term successful match.   

Intake

We start with an Intake meeting onsite to meet the team.  We spend time with the key players involved in the hire to get their input beyond just the hiring manager and HR.  The result of these meetings is a Position Specification which captures what is needed in the candidate profile as well as serves as a marketing document for the company and opportunity.  

Contact Campaign

Our team of researchers goes to market to exhaustively identify and engage with the best talent for our clients.  We deliver both quality and quantity and produce a diverse slate of candidates who meet and exceed the spec while also providing a range of options to chose from. 

Progress meeting

Client needs come first and we do not provide a cookie cutter "one size fits all" approach but rather craft a search plan based on client needs and desires.  Timing of the search process is dictated by client priorities.  Typically after initiating a search we go to market for 3-4 weeks and then regroup for a formal progress meeting to present and go over a Progress Report with the client.  At this meeting we present a number of candidates who have been contacted and vetted by our team.  In this meeting each candidate is discussed and next steps formulated.  Usually clients are excited by several of these candidates and meetings are arranged. Feedback from this meeting is incorporated into the search process going forward as more candidates are generated. Weekly progress meetings continue until the role is filled.

Interviews

Candidates are interviewed and qualified by us before meeting the client.  We help shape the interview loop and assessment instruments in consultation with the client.   

Offer

Normally we are involved in the offer presentation and negotiation.  

References

We provide candidate references for the final candidate prior to placement.  

Onboarding

We assist with the onboarding of candidates to help smooth the transition of the new hire. To ensure the quality of candidate fit we check in with both the placed candidate and the client on a quarterly basis.
